Ripley Power and Light Again Achieves the Highest Standard for Safe, Reliable Public Power. Ripley Power and Light Company once again has earned the Reliable Public Power Provider Diamond Level designation. With the intention of developing a future workforce pipeline, the Second Annual West Tennessee Pathways2Possibilities Career Expo was held for eighth graders in March.

As a municipal utility, our daily operations and our capital improvements are funded through our revenues. We do not use tax dollars. In fact, we give the city and county hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in lieu of tax payments.

Phillip Jackson is a retired Lauderdale County Superintendent of Education. An educator for 40 years, he started at Ripley High School in 1969 teaching bookkeeping and accounting. He spent 32 years of his career in school administration. A graduate of Halls High School, he has a bachelor's degree in education from Lambuth University and a master's degree in education (administration and supervision) from the University of Memphis. He and his wife, Jean, a retired school teacher, have one child and two grandchildren.

Ripley Power and Light Company showed once again that it provides customers safe and reliable electric service. Ripley Power and Light earned the Diamond RP3 Award for the second time - the highest of three levels of recognition and the most difficult to achieve and maintain.
