Carrying on the family tradition, with a $4,000 loan from his father and relentless determination, "Marty" founded R&D Heating and Cooling in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, in 1986. With one truck and two employees, Marty being one of them, R&D Heating and Cooling set out to provide lite commercial services with a heavy concentration in residential HVAC new construction and residential heating and cooling services. The company of two later grew to 54 employees, 25 crews of men, and 32 trucks in service.
