Starting off in a converted milking barn, Jim opened Weather Crafters in 1971 with just two employees and a used pickup truck.


He was re-elected for two more terms. Then served few years as Peninsula's 1st Parole Officer. He did Commercial and Residential work and his firm started to expand and he hired more people as needed. He became one of the 1st domestic heating and air conditioning contractors in town. In 1975 Walter hired Richard Hibbard as an apprentice and taught him everything he knew for 5 years.
