Unfortunately These folks have a liar that works for them. After speaking with a representative for half an hour about the system we would like and he happily explained all the pros and cons. Then he told us that he would call us back. Nope, no call. So, when I called them back, I was informed that they would NOT give us the "FREE consultation" because we are with French Broad Electric Co-op and for that reason they would not do business with us. You have been warned.

Sundance and every employee I've ever had the pleasure to deal with has always had an answer, found an answer and provided a solution. I wish more companies had the character and standards Sundance has.

Sundance installed my solar system in 2015 and a Tesla Powerwall backup in December. Both installations were completely professional, installed when promised and the installers were happy to answer any questions during the procedures. Their service since 2015 has been prompt and excellent. Cannot recommend them more highly.

Scheduled a visit to have a Sundance installed system checked out on a newly purchased home. Their system had been in service for a number of years. Michelle was very personable, professional, and knowledgable. She provided a thorough assessment of the performance of the system and some tips for DIY adjustments and maintenance, all at a very fair price. Good Job Michelle! Thank you!

Excellent customer service, design, products and experience. We had Sundance design a battery back up grid connected system for our homestead several years ago. I meant to leave a review but I guess I forgot. From the initial meetings, through the planning and construction, everything was flawless and done exactly as described. All the employees were so pleasant and professional to work with.

Recently I noticed a change in the charging capacity of our battery, so I contacted Sundance for advice. They quickly identified the issue, and have a plan for remedying the situation. I can't say enough about their customer service. We plan on getting another system to power our well at a produce farm soon, and will not even consider contacting anyone else besides Sundance. Thank you all for such a great experience, and especially for your continued excellent customer service!

I received quotes from more than half a dozen solar companies. They all sold good systems of various shapes and sizes but all of them had a template they wanted me to follow. What Sundance offered was a system designed for my needs based on my individual requirements. I purchased great REC panels plus an inverter and switching system that allowed me to use my solar energy at night and during blackouts (which are frequent around here) through backup batteries that were not lithium. Going solar is not just about not using coal/nuclear/fracking gas.

Its about doing less harm to the environment while living a more sustainable life. Sundance offered this more than the other guys. And they did a great job both conforming the system for me and building it well. This is my second time using them and I would use them again in a solar moment.

Sundance designed and installed my 9kW solar PV system. They thoughtfully designed a system that made the most sense for my needs and budget. They were always courteous and timely during the design/permitting/installation process and followed up with great customer service as well. I could not be happier with Sundance - my system works even better than expected (even on cloudy days). Thank you again Sundance, for helping me and my family achieve energy independence!

Great overall experience. Everyone I worked with at Sundance from start to finish was knowledgeable and professional, from help getting the rebate to jumping thru hoops to finish the installation before year end. PV system has been operating per specs for 5 months. Very happy so far.

Many thanks to the Sundance team for stellar boiler repair service. In recent weeks, Michelle came out to our home on two separate occasions for emergency repair. Not only did Michelle walk us through all details of the necessary work, but she also made smart recommendations that saved us time and money. We appreciated the excellent communication from the office, great repair work, and all around good people. We're very glad to be repeat Sundance customers!

Our experience with Sundance was great. They were diligent in helping site our ground based installation in the optimal location. Once construction began, they were efficient and timely front start to finish. The system has operated within the performance parameters that were predicted. Additionally, Sundance supported us in the process to successfully obtain our Duke Energy rebate. I would recommend them to anyone considering an investment in the solar generating system.

I have used this service multiple times for my radiant heat and floorboard heating. I have a 100 year old house and I have had to use them many times to replace old equipment. Allen is the guy that always comes to my rescue. He is professional, never overcharges me, and is upfront about what he is doing. I trust them explicitly in my house and with my repairs.

If your business website says that you provide consultancy and installation for micro-hydro, and integrated solar / micro-hydro systems, then it seems like you should actually offer that in sooth. Or at the very least, point a customer in the right direction to receive help if you are not able to provide the service, particularly when the customer has specifically asked for that type of help. Does Sundance Power Systems really read their customer emails or formal quote requests? : Recently I filled out a request for consultancy on the Sundance website, www.sundance.com.

I received a very general reply several days later, giving their minimum specifications for the installation of a "head-based" micro-hydro system. In the form that I filled out on their website, I provided them with the google-maps link to the land that clearly indicated the site, and a link to the USGS river statistics for that site. Their email response was such that I wondered if they ever actually went to the google-map, USGS website, or even actually read the whole quote request email.

The reply did say if you have any questions, or if you want a Renewable Energy Consultant to follow up for a site visit, to reply to a specific provided email address. So, I did; I clarified several of my questions, highlighted some of the previously provided information, newly researched information about the head or "drop-of-the-landscape" of my proposed site.

I also asked for a referral to anyone who may be able to help with NC river-regulations, or alternatives to head based systems like in-river-turbines. The results of my research on the "head" of my site, was a rough estimate based on the height above sea level difference between the spot from which I could take water out, to the spot where I could build a turbine shed.

To be fair, This estimated "head" figure was under what the response email said was the minimum head for Sundance to undertake a project, but It was close enough to warrant an on site consultation. Plus, my research shows that there are numerous low-head micro-hydro solutions available on the market, that easily make practical use of my estimated figure, and that when integrated with solar, would make mine a viable renewable energy project to at least consult for.

But my low-head estimate is essentially irrelevant, because I stated in my email that I preferred a no-head solution, and that I have high flow rates and several unique spots on my property that would make the low-impact in-river turbine approach the most environmentally and personally desirable approach. The subsequent reply email, a little less than a week later, was again, frustratingly brief: --"I have consulted with my coworkers and at this time we are unable to assist with micro-hydro.

We are at maximum capacity with Solar Electric. Thank you for all your research, good luck on your project! " I am convinced that, this time, they did not really bother to read my email(s), or actually look into my project at all. No comment from them on the solar part of a hybrid micro-hydro-solar request, no acknowledgment of the desire to find a no-head environmentally low-impact solution. only a "good luck!".

There are very few renewable energy solutions consultants in NC. Basically anyone you talk to points you to Sundance Power Systems. This leaves me high and dry in getting local professional help in creating an integrated renewable solution on my site. Wouldn't a company who claims to foster and participate in the growth and health of an alternative energy community in NC, at least take the time to thoroughly investigate a potential customer's project, one that their website clearly states they handle? Wouldn't a company, if too busy with solar to take on a micro-hydro project, at least have read the emails and thus see that I also was requesting an integrated solar system? Wouldn't any company with even minimal customer service, follow through on the request to be referred to someone who could help me?

If you request anything from Sundance Power Systems through their website, make sure you keep your emails to tweet-length (which is impossible, and wrong anyway), and make sure you do not mention micro-hydro because even if you still wanted a solar system, they apparently do not read past the micro-hydro part. Bad customer service. lost customer. -and customer who is lost- This is why we have yelp.
