In 1909, our founder, Maurice S. Johnston (M.S.), got started in business on a horse-drawn milk wagon and later worked part-time for several large ice cream companies. Ever the entrepreneur, he began a repair business, tinkering with all sorts of equipment, including some of the earliest automobiles and gasoline flat irons.
M. S. Johnston Co. entered the HVAC industry in 1939 by becoming an authorized York air conditioning distributor. Through 67 years of continuous operation in this industry we have developed a staff of professionals who provide quality design, installation and service work. Our HVAC division offers commercial, industrial and institutional design/build and plan and spec installation and service for most types of HVAC systems.
Our refrigeration department specializes in designing, selling, installing and servicing all types of commercial refrigeration equipment. This includes reach-in freezers and refrigerators, ice makers and dispensers, walk-in freezers, walk-in coolers, refrigerated warehouses, display cases, supermarkets and convenience stores.
