I am extremely satisfied with Heat Engineering. They installed a new A/C unit and they did a great job. Brian Papania informed me of everything I needed. He was very helpful. Stanley was the main installer. He was thorough, courteous and did not rush the install. It was obvious he was experienced. The whole procedure was smooth. Service: Install AC

I called very early this morning for emergency service. It's 87 degrees in our home. My husband just came home from the hospital. He's not doing well with the heat. Called 3 times. Finally, told they could come between 12 and 3. This is a life threatening situation and they are callous to it. Have been waiting 2 1/2 years for sales person to get back to me regarding an 80 gallon hot water heater. Luckily, I called ABT the next day after he was so wishy washy.

I had it in 12 hours. I've had this company for the 48 years that we've lived here. They were wonderful, but within the past 10 years, that is no longer the case. This will be the last time I do business with them. And now, only because I just paid over $500 for a service contract. Supposed to get you preferential treatment. If they threat a long loyal customer this way, what do they do to the new ones?

Service was very professional. My 20 yr old furnace lost connection with heaters. One heater was reconnected, but a part had to be located and installed the next day. There was no extra visit charge.

I had an overall positive experience with everyone I dealt with from getting the quote on the installation to the ultimate completion of the project. They were responsive to my request and appointments were always right on time. This was a somewhat complicated install that required a few visits, but now that the work has been completed I couldn't be happier. The new Carrier unit is a big improvement over my prior furnace, and I look forward to continuing to rely on The Heat Engineering Co for my future HVAC needs.

This review is for a quote on a new AC install. Bryan was very knowledgeable about the product and about installation. Their price was also very reasonable. If you are in the market for a new AC check this company out.

I have been a loyal customer for 30 years - and my mom since years before that. They have installed all my HVAC equipment and maintained all my equipment - and repaired whatever needed repairing. They have met me at my house at MN to help in a heating emergency. Everyone who has ever come out to service the equipment has been meticulous and experienced and professional - above and beyond. I keep a service contract with them annually because of their excellence and reliability.

I have used The Heat since we moved in to our house 8 years ago, and they perform maintenance on our aging furnace and A/C. Every service person they've sent has been knowledgeable and takes time to explain their process, show me any areas of concern and provide great service. I especially appreciate their friendliness. I find their prices very competitive, and their responses timely.

Working with The Heat Engineering Co was a fantastic experience. From the initial call I was provided with an overview of options that fit my needs. From there Brian & I discussed based off the size of my house which A/C unit & heater would be a good fit. Brian went above and beyond walking me through options and really made the process seamless. Upon installation, Mike & Stanley were extremely professional and provided an overview of how to use the new furnace & A/C and made us feel like professionals after the walk through.

I can't say enough on how pleased I was for the awesome service that was provided. I highly recommend Heat Engineering Co. to people in need of great service at an affordable price.

I have used Heat Engineering for several years to service my HVAC and they have been very reliable and professional. Recently i needed to fix some duct work, rewire electric service to the heat unit and install a new fan motor etc. They not only did the install of duct and fan motor but coordinated with electrician on wiring specifications and instructions and were very consultative throughout the process. They also stopped by on 2 occasions to make sure everything was done properly and functioning. Very pleased with their service

I had a new central a/c unit installed about one year ago. Cost $6,000 Over the past few days, excessive water drainage started. Today's service rep, Steve, came out and was wonderful. He worked very hard, was prompt & knew what he was doing, He explained that the problem was a clogged vinly drain pipe. The pipe was from the original a/c unit that was replaced last year.

I don't understand why the original drain was not replaced at the same time the new unit was replaced. I would have even paid extra to have it installed, had I been offered the option. The end result: Service charge of $150 per hour Total bill: $347 I called the office and was told that the drain pipe is not part of the installation of a new unit.

I would not recomend them, especailly at $150, plus the fact that I should have been offered to have the pipe replaced when the new unit was installed. In addition, since the service rep did not have vinyl drain pipe with him, he needed to go out & get it. I was charged for his travel time! Why should I be charged for travel time when HE did not have the part As a result, an additional service call that could have been avoided at $150 per hour.

Be careful if you do business with them and inquire about the hourlly rate before you agree to any service call. I'm sure there are places in the area that are equally as good and much less expensive.

Do NOT USE. They came in to do a service, fixed the initial issue, did a service check of both systems, which stated filter was checked an no issue. 2 days later very little heat, called back and they charged me 111.00 to replace a filter they said was fine 2 days prior. I get it I should have checked it, but they were just out, fixed a sensor, said the filter was good and 2 days later no heat, so assumed something wrong with the sensor again. Refused to remove the cost. DO NOT USE.

OK THIS WHY YOU CALL THESE GUYS! My 1985 A/C unit went out last night. They had every chance to sell me a new system based on age. Kevin came by at 10:15 and methodically checked the filters, then fan, then line pressures.all good. Took off electrical panel and check all capacitors and contactors. 1 contactor needed cleaning. THAT'S IT! And he explained everything to me. Great guy working for a great company!

I've been using Heat Engineering for a number of years. I can attest that it's very reassuring to deal with a knowledgeable and above-board (honest) HVAC company. The installer who came out recently has been with the company for approximately 30 years. That's a testament as well to the stability of Heat Engineering. I would definitely recommend them for heating and cooling needs!

We had a terrible experience. The day we moved into our home (a Friday), a representative from Nicor alerted us that our boiler/water heater exhaust was not properly insulated or sealed. Because they noticed the problem (though it had likely been that way for years.), he was required to cut gas to the area until the issue was remedied. The Heat Engineering had previously serviced these units, so I called them to come and make the quick fix so we would have heat/hot water for the weekend.

I called at 2 PM - they said someone would come out 'promptly.' The service person showed up at 4:30, said that dispatch gave him the wrong summary and he didn't have the materials to handle the job. He said he knew what was needed and would come out on Monday to fix it. When we asked if he could come on the weekend (because they came unprepared despite our accurate description of the problem) they would not budge on the weekend fee so we opted out.

It was unseasonably cold and we have two small kids - no heat or hot water our first weekend was not ideal! I took the day off Monday and when I was not given a courtesy call by 8:30, called to see the status of our service appointment. Dispatch said 'something more important came up' and promised he would be out by noon. When no one arrived by 12:30, I called again and was told that the job that bumped us was taking longer and they could be out on THURSDAY.

No thanks! You can imagine my surprise to receive a bill for over $200 for a 10 minute visit (we were charged overtime hours when they took 2+ hours to come out) where no work was done. When we called to express our surprise, the account person we spoke with was unapologetic and gruff. When we were stood up by The Heat Engineering Co., I called Stadler (awesome company!) - they came out in 20 minutes and fixed the issue for LESS than we were charged by HE for nothing. Very disappointing and an expensive lesson!

I am a deaf adult widow. My husband told me to keep the services of Heat Engineering and I have and am very happy with their work. They take the time to text me so I do not have to sit and watch for hours for the repairman. This is great! All the service people are friendly and take the time to write everything down for me. You cannot go wrong here, these are great people and great service. Karen G.

After spending about $400 (it's around $100 to walk in the door and $120/hour), the furnace wasn't quite right. It is my fault but I waited to call them. It turns out they have a 90 day warrantee and it was about 95 days. They wouldn't honor their work. I will get it fixed right next fall. It won't be from them. I don't think anyone else is more expensive and they didn't end up doing a good job, or standing behind their work. Of course I am to blame as well for waiting a few days too long to let them know their repair wasn't right.

Very expensive! I wanted to support a local business and so scheduled this company for maintenance and repair of our two air conditioner units. Scheduled an appointment for anywhere between 12-4 pm. (Don't you hate that?) on Friday. At 5 to 4:00, still no service person, so I called. All apologetic, the receptionist said she put the order in the wrong pile and they could come out first thing the next morning.

She said that as a courtesy they would waive the weekend rate! No other discount for their error was offered. They arrived 15 minutes late the next morning. Checked the two units - one had a freon leak. Couldn't find the leak, capped off the unit with additional freon and charged $545.25! Their are plenty of other HVAC companies around, skip this one.

These guys are a complete ripoff! The charged us 635 bucks to change a control board on my new furnace. A very simple repair I later found out. The control board can be bought for $75.00 online. They took advantage of our anxiety from being without heat and major snowstorm that occurred the night before. We were without heat in our new home and quite worried and desperate.

The technician Dave showed up the first time for ten minutes and charged 150. Then came back five hours later installed the board which took a half an hour another 175 charged. I was under the impression they were being honest but later found out from our new HVAC guy they completely ripped us off. I still have the invoice. Look elsewhere for your service needs. 325 for labor and 310 for the board completely ridiculous. Eric F
