Major institutions, commercial and industrial clients, and even individual homeowners rely on Commercial Air to service and supply their HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) systems and equipment. A few years ago when my furnace broke down, another furnace guy, after spending the entire day trying to troubleshoot the problem, finally told me the bad news that it would cost more to fix than replace the furnace.

I decided to get a few estimates considering this is a 7k investment. I called Commercial Air, and within 10 minutes, they guy showed me the problem, fixed it, and charged me a minimum service charge of $95.
Services
Commercial Air, Inc., a residential, commercial, and industrial Mechanical Contracting business, has been in operation in Eugene since 1979. The owners, Travis Reimann and Jerry Doerrie come from a family of Heating and Air Conditioning people dating back to 1931. Since first opening our doors, Commercial Air, Inc. has been serving the residential, commercial, and industrial markets, establishing a reputable, quality oriented business.
Dirt, pollen, smoke, pet hair, dust mites, and microorganisms can accumulate inside ducting over time. This can increase the occurrence of respiratory problems and illness when using heating and air conditioning systems. Clean ducting also eliminates the musty, stale smell that occurs when starting a system at the beginning of the heating or cooling season.
Air balancing involves measuring airflow into each room, and adjusting or repairing the ducting to improve and balance the air flow. This ensures that each room in your home or building will be as comfortable as possible, given the nature of the system(s) available. The process includes testing for the amount of air flow into each room, as well as testing the pressure, temperature, and humidity.

My furnace quit working on a night it is going to be 20 degrees out. I called a different local business and was told someone could come out maybe next week. I called Commercial Air and within an hour Jim showed up and had my furnace up and running in 30 minutes! He was friendly, knowledgeable and great to work with. He made a recommendation and offered to send a quote but he didn't try to up sale me. I highly recommend this company, exactly the type of service you want!

Installed HVAC system and promised to provide balancing system. This involved tech simply holding his hand to vent and seeing if there was any flow. I asked for a proper balancing service, which they refused to return and provide. They just continued to send bills until I finally relented and paid without completed proper installation.

Compared to the competition, Commercial Air was slightly lower and did a great job installing a new Trane Heat Pump.

The other guy wanted 6k to replace my furnace. That was several years ago. So recently I decided to replace my 30-year old furnace. I decided to get a few estimates. The big players in town with lots of advertising and high overhead had slightly higher estimates. Commercial Air, had the lowest estimate for the same brand furnace. They did a fine job with installation, and answered all my questions.

My furnace went out at night so I called the after hours service number and spoke with Reice. He spent 20 minutes on the phone with me trouble shooting the issues to make sure that he would have the part to fix it if he came out on an emergency call. It wound up being a part he didn't have on hand so he took my information and said he would start a service order in the morning.

By the time I called the next morning he had already picked up my part and was heading to my house! He was very professional and friendly. I really appreciated that he took the time to determine if he could fix my furnace before coming out on an emergency call and that he saved me the after hours fee. The repair was fast and the price was reasonable. I definitely reccomend them!

The real test of a good business is customer satisfaction under any situation. The installation of my heat pump was fine, there was problem with the paperwork. The owner went way out of his way to make it right. I wish more companies had this excellent business ethic. Their taking responsibility for the whole job impressed me. I would recommend them.

Excessive Billing - Commercial billed me over $900 to replace a TXV valve on the air handler for the heat pump. I am an out-of-state rental property owner who recently moved from the house I now rent. Commercial Air previously performed the same work less than three years earlier for under $300 while I was living there. This time, their Tech called with the diagnosis and stated that the valve failed due to a pin hole leak in the welded connection (the exact work they did three years earlier).

When the work was performed the first time, it took about one and a half hours. They billed me for six hours this time, the tenant stated they only took about 2 to 2 1/2 hours to do the work. I called six other vendors in the market described in detail what the repair was; the highest quote of the six was $550 (Commercial Air billed me $900) Their blatant over-billing is inexcusable.

They replaced their own faulty work and charged me triple for the pleasure. Paying them to fix their own inferior workmanship is painful at best. If I had the time and energy, I would file a CCB complaint. My recommendation is DO NOT CALL Commercial Air and find a more reputable HVAC service.
