I give a 5-star. Our heating system had an intermittent on and off problem. Called the office and set up the appointment. Mark came and fixed the problem. He warned us that the fix might be temporary, because the circuit board probably should be replaced. He wrote down the model number and told us to call when the problem came back, then he would order the part.

As expected, it stopped working a couple of days later, called the office. Mark ordered the part overnight and came the next day to have the circuit board replaced, just before the weather got really cold. Since then the heating has been working well. I am glad that I found a reliable local HVAC service company.

We went with B&D to have our HVAC system installed and we would never consider calling anyone else. Price was fair, service was exceptional. These folks know what they're doing.

I had a very similar experience to another reviewer here-I called to set up an appointment several times for a unit they had worked on previously with a prior tenant (commercial). The first time I called, the woman who answered said they wouldn't come because the prior tenant owed them money. I sorted that out and call back to schedule it (I said I would pay the outstanding invoice).

She said she'd call me back but never did. After several tries I was finally able to set up an appointment and called that morning to confirm and she said we weren't on the schedule. She said she'd look into it and get back to me. She never did so I called again and was told "they don't want to get involved in this job." Horrible experience all around.

I have been doing business with B&D for over five years. I had a Fujitsu ductless system installed in my house in Needham and it has been fantastic. Based on that experience, this past summer I had a similar ductless system installed at my sister's home in Milton - it was Carrier equipment at that time. Most importantly, all the people who work at B&D are friendly, knowledgable and willing to help their customers achieve the solution that is right for them. I highly recommend B&D. Jim Needham

This company is sketchy as all get-out, and they totally hung me out to dry. They committed to buy a took kit that I had listed for sale on ebay, then they tried paying via a payment method that I did not accept. After that, I sent several messages asking them how they intended to complete the sale and tried to call several more times, but the phone always went to voicemail during business hours and no one responded. Finally, after five days of waiting, I received a "sorry for wasting your time" message with no intention of payment. Now, thanks to these clueless losers, I have to pursue cancellation to get my fees back.

If these people don't have the common courtesy to honor their commitments and follow through on their purchases, or the decency to contact me in a timely manner, I certainly would not trust them with any other job.

Any recent 2017 reviews? The Angies List is 2011. So far not impressed. Immediately said my elderly Mother she needs a NEW furnace before identifying the problem with her current one. If its a part that is still under warranty (like the review below) there will be hell to pay. Also haven't discussed cleaning the ducts that haven't been cleaned for years. If this requires an additional service call that will unacceptable.

Called this company and talked to the woman who answered the phone, set up an appointment for 11 am to 1 Pm on a certain day, then I called to confirm, she stated it was too cold out to fix the central A/C, so we re-scheduled the appointment 2 days later when it would be warmer. I called to confirm, she said I was not on the schedule and did not have any idea when they could come out. Said they would call, they never did.

I found another company: Addarios inc. from Woburn, MA 781-289-3536 who gave me a definite time and arrived on time, they cover all of MASS. They were able to fix my A/c on a cold day monday 6.5.17 about 52 degrees, and no flat fee of $99 just to show up. I will never use B & D! They did not say we have to charge $450 just to find a leak like other companies do.

My furnace was blowing out cold air from the vents, tried problem solving it myself. Called them up at 3:30 on a Saturday. After I explained the problem I was having and the troubleshooting I've tried. The man on the phone told me to tap a certain area with a screwdriver, *whoosh* the auto pilot light kicked on and my house was warm again. I cannot thank these guys enough! I also had a central air unit installed in 08 by them and it still runs like a champ. Thanks for the help, will be sure to call them again.

Whenever I deal with a contractor or service provider who provides excellent and honorable service, I make sure to point it out. B&D installed the central air and heating on a renovation project completed by the previous owner of our home. Since moving in, we've encountered a few issues that are typical of a new homeowner's learning curve.

Every time we've had a problem, they've tried to resolve the problem over the phone rather than impose the cost of a house visit. One of the problems we encountered was due to a faulty control board, which they impressively resolved through the warranty rather than nickle and dime us with service fees. B&D also installed a ductless system in our finished basement.

They recommended the perfect system at a reasonable cost for the space, did an amazingly fast installation, and ran the piping and wires in a way reflective of people that take pride in their work. The attention to detail in the systems routed through our attics is equally impressive. They know what they're doing and it shows. Family run business. Honest. Responsive. Good people. We recommend them to all of our friends and family members, and can't speak highly enough of their service.

My furnace went out on a holiday and one of the coldest days this year. I called B and D once again (as they have come to fix my furnace before) and they came out on the holiday (presidents day). There were 2 guys. Very nice, friendly. They were quick to discover my problem. They gave me a temporary fix, ordered the part, and promptly came to install.

Total work hours, 1.5. They don't waste my time, they are pleasant, they put up with my million questions! I will call them again if ( I hope that I don't need to) my furnace has trouble again. A+++

My central A/C unit wasn't blowing cool air anymore so I searched around and called a few HVAC companies. The first company that came told me my condenser was toast and would need replacing. They gave me a verbal rough estimate of 3k to replace it with a formal quote to follow. Luckily, I got a second opinion and from B&D! Mike D. came out and was very friendly and professional.

He found out exactly what was wrong and did a very thorough job fixing 4 problem areas to get my system back up and running for $551.50! It pays for second opinion and it pays to have someone who knows what they're doing. The price was reasonable and fair for what they did. My only feedback would be to provide some rough pricing ahead of time instead of doing all the work first and then hitting someone with the bill just in case you get backlash as there was never approval to do any of the work; it was just done.

I obviously could have stopped him and asked how much he thought all the work was going to be before letting him proceed but I trusted Mike and I knew no matter what he fixed, it wasn't going to be anywhere close to 3k! I'd recommend B&D and will definitely have them service/maintain my central air unit.

They provided a service call for my furnace. They were very prompt and professional - on time and apparently a clear diagnosis of my faulty part. However the issue was with what happened next. They told me my part was not warrantied and I needed to replace my furnace at a cost of $6k. After seeking another opinion found out my part DID have a warranty (lifetime) and it could be repaired for $800.

If I wanted a new furnace it would have cost me $3k. Needless to say I did the repair with the other company. Not only did this company recommend a needless furnace replacement, the recommended one at TWICE the cost. after research it is $2k for a furnace and 3 hours to replace, so they were charging e over $1k an hour for labor. I would avoid this one.they are the stereotypical service company trying to rip customers off. Although the they did an ok service call, the unethical actions warrant a one star.

These guys were great. Excellent communication and responsiveness. Came on time worked quickly and got things fixed and back running in no time. The charge for the replacement part was competitive to what I found on the internet and their labor charge was reasonable. Highly recommend this company if you need help.

Our furnace got red-tagged by NStar after my previous HVAC co botched the job. I called these guys because a friend told me they were highly rated on Angie's List. Charlie came right out on a Saturday, understood what was needed and then picked up the new furnace and got the job done by Monday afternoon. And then he took the time to really explain all the capabilities of the new thermostat. Professional, knowledgable and really nice.
