Over priced for the job. $350 for switching out a faucet? That's ridiculous. Avoid the company as they are over priced for a simple service. I will say that the plumber was respectful, and well versed in his field

Tried to get an idea of what a relatively simple plumbing job would cost, and was told that that information was not given out. Asking for an estimate would cost 89$. No other plumber seems to have trouble giving out basic price information over the phone.

It was -17 and the pipes in my garage froze and then had water leaking from all over. I was finally was able to shut off the water. I live alone and it was late when I called Alcota. A technician was going to come out but he developed car problems but kept me informed the entire time. He promised someone would be out first thing in the morning and they sent Scott out as promised.

He did a great job and went above and beyond fixing the problem. He had to crawl in to little spaces and climb over my riding mower. I live in Peters Creek and was not hassled about the distance. I would highly recommend Alcota for your plumbing needs. They are reliable and get the job done for a reasonable price. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Waste of money. Guy had no experience. Told me he didn't even have the tools with him to try and replace the thermostat to see if that's what the problem was. He just guessed that's why the heat wasn't working. I ran to buy a thermostat and replaced it myself and that didn't work.so i paid $125 for someone to basically show up and leave. Now I have to pay another plumbing company to come try in fix it and I've already lost $150 with nothing to show for.

I hired this company to repair my main water shutoff and solder some copper pipes in my shower. The first gentleman that showed up was professional and skilled he replaced the leaking old gate valve in about an hour. Then he looked at my shower and said hed come back to replace the copper pipes after I finished installing the manifold and new support boards.

I set up an appointment with him to come back the following monday. I get a call from the dispatcher saying they can't come out because they are stuck on a repair. Understandable, and we reschedule for tuesday. Tuesday comes around and no one shows up. Didnt even get a phone call. I call them up, find out someone messed up the scheduling, now theyll definitely come out wednesday and they are really sorry.

Now Im mad because these repairs are time sensitive in order to sell my house. So the next tech comes out to the house, looks at the two pipes I need replaced, and quotes me $205!?!? For a half hour of work? I tell him no thank you, and he leaves. He was nice and professional about it. They charged me $395 to replace that main water shutoff valve. Had I not been in a time crunch I shouldve told them to pack sand. Its a shame that they are going to overcharge themselves out of work because they do a good job. I will never hire them again though.

Hired them to do plumbing in a high end bathroom remodel and the tech was extremely unprofessional. He showed up at first meeting covered in mud and home had to be cleaned up. He was given specific instructions on placement of shower head and didnt do it correct. Homeowner asked to have a existing vent taken out and he said he would not do it until he discussed with general.

Big surprise, he never did call general. Left several messages to discuss what was happening with owner/manager of Alkota and he/she never called us back! Home owner kicked Alkota off job site. Yesterday was our last day to complete the project and the entire basement and garage flooded with nasty sewer water because Alkota left 3x 2" test plugs and 1x 3" test plug in drain lines.

I have called to discuss this matter with Alkota and am waiting for a call from management. Matt w/ Alkota called me back is taking absolutely no responsibilty and blaming another company.

I've used Alkota for years before this, and had good experience up until this year; however, they seem to have gone to a flat fee rate for their services which turned out to be outrageous - I'm not understanding how they're even staying in business at this point. I had them come to my house a month or so ago to do a furnace cleaning and inspection.

The technician was very nice and professional - but the charges did seem to be excessive. I chalked it up to not having had the maintenance done in the last three years since I've owned the house. It became apparent though that they have lost their minds when I called them to hook up my new sink today - putting on new faucet, hooking up the old garbage disposal and drain pipe - their "flat rate" charges were going to add up to more than $1,000!

For hooking up a sink! At least the guy who came was smart enough to tell me before he started (and seemed embarrassed) so that I could tell him to just leave! How can a business stay afloat charging prices like that? I'm not sure when they went to this method of charging, but I can only hope they come to their senses and get a clue before they drive themselves out of business.

You'll notice that the good 5-star reviews are from 2 or more years ago - and all the recent reviews say the same thing I'm saying. You can call them - but be prepared to pay a ridiculous price for their service.

Alkota installed my furnace and an demand hot water heater last spring and did a great job. The estimator and installers were polite and professional and scheduled me in on short notice. They honored an estimate done 6 months before I finally called for the install. I will agree with the previous review that it's hard to get a call back from these guys though, I never once had a message returned, I had to keep calling. UPDATE : I am downgrading my rating to 2 stars. They quoted me $850 for a unit that retails for $250 and installs with 3 quick connections. Highway robbery! Go elsewhere.

Alkota Plumbing improperly winterized my home and blamed the plumber I hired to fix their mess. It proved to be too much of a hassle to fight and arbitrate my dispute with them through the BBB for over charging me to see the damaged done to my home. So I paid the bill as opposed to buying another airline ticket to continue my dispute with the BBB. Dealing with them was disgusting as they fail to take responsibility for their technicians mistake.

They were only interested in charging me overtime when called out to see my busted pipes improperly purged during their winterization. They were unprofessional and were only interested in being paid for the service call. I will NEVER do business with them again.

Horrible experiences for years now. We had the "Embassy Onex" on demand system installed in 2010 by Alkota after having been referred by a friend (who has since apologized for making the referral) because it was supposed to save us money. We have had nothing but trouble with the unit since then and have had to pay repeatedly for service calls, usually by technicians who have not been trained on the unit, only to have another technician return to solve the issue while being charged for both or more calls.

Each experience starts with having to flip a coin to see who has to call and talk to Natalie, the very rude receptionist. We have spent over $2,000 in service and parts on this "economical" unit and had to deal several times with the gross incompetence of the technicians who show up. If it were not for the fact that they are the only ones we can call due to the warranty, we would never, ever call them again. Run, do not walk from Alkota, they will cost you plenty over time.
